Coverup? Concealer? HELP! + Smoking Update

I’m not a normal girl.

I know nothing about fashion.  Kenneth who? Pra-what?

Or how to dress.

Or about make-up.

I decided last week that maybe I should try wearing coverup to even out my skin tone.  (I think that is what it does.)

So I bought this.

I think I’m applying it correctly.

It seems to help.

Before

After

I think.

Questions for you actual girls out there.

  1.  Does it look like it’s helping?
  2. Is this coverup?  Concealer?  What is the difference?  How should I be applying them??

Ok, so the second question was like four questions.

Please help!

I am lost.

Annnnnnnd now for the smoking update.

Doing terrible.

‘Nuff said.

And no, that picture is not of me.

I shall leave you with a song that I thought I would hate, but actually kinda love.

Is that really Kenny G?!  Sweet.

Enjoy your day! :)

Liver Toys

Just texted “love you!”, and my auto correct changed it to “liver toys“.

Luckily I caught it before I hit send.  lol

PS Check out what just came up when I googled “liver toys”.

An actual stuffed toy.

That looks like a liver.

No way.

Welp, now I’ve seen everything.

On another note, our run was spectacular yesterday morning!  I felt great and full of energy until I got home from [the longest day of] work [ever].

But I made it through dinner, feeding cats for the in-laws, the driving range and dessert + South Park before crashing.

Sleeping Beauty Polar Bear.

Ten (yes, 10) hours later, I am awake and ready to enjoy our day off!

We took off from work to celebrate Vic’s birthday.  It was supposed to be last week on his actual birthday, but he had a lot going on at work so we switched it to today.

We were supposed to go golfing (well, him golf and me watch), but it’s raining because of Katia….

(those things look so scary from space..eeeek!)

So not sure what we are going to do today.  I’m sure it will be nice just to enjoy the day with the hus-b.  :)

Stay dry!

Gramma’s House

New flat screen for g’mas bedroom   √

New webcam hooked up so g’ma can use skype (she is pretty up on her technology for a woman in her 80′s)   √

Mass in honor of my poppy with some of the fam  √

  • Declined “bringing up the gifts” (because I am not Catholic and had no idea what that was)….husband told me I was going to hell now lol  EEEEEEEK
  • Priest got into it at the end and sounded like an announcer….”The Father….The Son…And the Holy Spirit!”
  • Air conditioning was working better this time so we were not dripping sweat, which is always nice

my favorite pic of him - so handsome!

Dinner at Martinos with some of the fam (my gramma’s fav place – we go here pretty much every time I see her….their Stuffed Rigatoni A La Vodka is AMAZING)     √

  • My cousin and I got visibly angry at the boys (my husband, and her boyfriend) because they ordered dessert when she had a secret birthday cake for them at home (they were born a day apart)
  • We found out that they were born about 12 hours apart, at the same hospital, and were most likely nursery buddies because their last names stat with the same letter – so weird!

Went home and ate said birthday cake (even though we were all so full we wanted to throw up)      √

Played UNO with gramma for a while  ( I won both games – woop woop!)     √

Laughed hysterically all night     √

Favorite quote of the night:

Aunt:  “I love Apples to Apples!”  (the game)

Gramma:  (with very pronounced hand movements) “All of a sudden now she wants apples?!!”

Cousin:  “No, gramma.  It’s a game.”

Gramma:  (same hand movements)  ”She wants to play Scrabble??!!!!”

<3 the fam.

The Husband’s Birthday in Pictures

the husband sporting one of his new ties/matching cuff links sets (one of my presents to him)

first he wanted to hit the mall to pick up a few shirts with french cuffs.....

and shoes

look at this gorgeous sky for the birthday boy

Then we went to the driving range for a while....he got a new glove

What a gorgeous swing

My terrible swing. This was my third time at the driving range with Vic, and he has been slowly giving me little tips and things to work on. This was an exciting day because he tweaked one thing my swing and I was actually hitting the ball UP (big deal for me) and about 50 yards with a 9 iron. Go me! :)

TGIFridays for dinner....Sam Adams Oktoberfest for him, Hawaiian Volcano for me (my all time TGIF fav)

The bday boy...such a cutie!

I look like the joker in the picture...can you say CREEPY?

Fried Mozzarella appetizer

Burger and summer green beans for me

Steak, summer green beans and fries for the husband

Brownie Obsession (shared) for dessert....my fav...I swoon. Want to try to make this at home soon

Of course the husband always has to have his post-dinner coffee

I don't understand how "What year were potato skins invented" is a discussion topic (these were on the back of the sugar packets). That clearly has a definitive answer. Which was not on there btw. I googled it. The answer is 1974. The second packet had a better question.

Victor’s famous “fingers that dance and stuff” (I just made up that name)…this never ceases to make me laugh:

Ok, so I cheated and these photos had captions.

Victor’s birthday celebration continues tonight at Pace’s Steak House with his parents.

Off to clean and pay a few bills.

Happy long weekend! :)

And then there was light…

We have power again. Yay! :)

no this is not my house...i wish!

Irene was not as bad as I thought it would be.

We had power all the way up until the storm was over.

Then….everything went out.

For about 36 hours.

We didn’t know what to do with ourselves.  We walked around the neighborhood and took pictures of the uprooted trees and downed power poles, and spoke with our neighbors.

We took a nap.

We watched You, Me and Dupree (one of our favorites) on the husband’s laptop, while snuggled on the couch, surrounded by the light of the fireplace and candles.  (So Romannnntic)

Yesterday, I went to my grandmother’s and hung out with her, my aunt, my cousin and her bf.   We tried out Zumba.  It was amazingly fun.  My hamstrings hurt.

Last night, the husband was stir crazy, and we went out to the movies.  We saw Our Idiot Brother.  Hilarious and heart-warming.

We were getting ready for bed last night, and the power came on.  I jumped up and yelled, “Is this for real?!”  And then it went out again.

At 1:30 a.m., the power came back on for good.  We woke up and watched an episode of South Park on Netflix, and went back to bed.

South Park

And now all is good in the world.  :)

Couch to 5K run later with Nikki.

Have a great day!  :)
