Ze Blogs I Read Daily

Below are the blogs that I read on a daily basis.

I figured it would be a good idea for me to put this page up because it would be easier to remember to check them all.

Oh, and so you could check them out too, of course.  :)

www.HealthyTippingPoint.com

This is the first blog I ever read.  The author, Caitlin, also has a site calledOperation Beautiful, a movement in which I participate in.  (love)  Caitlin documents her everyday workouts/eating/busy life (I don’t know how she does it!).  I also pretty much love all her puppy photos.

www.Fitnessista.com

In her blog, Gina writes about her workouts, recipes, fashion, and her pregnancy journey.  I especially like her Focus On posts, where she defines different exercise classes/videos, and lists the pros and cons of each.

www.BenDoesLife.com

This is a blog about Ben, who one day a few years ago promised his grandma (Mee Maw) that he would get in shape.  He has since then lost 120 lbs, runs marathons and triathlons, and is soon starting the second Do Life tour with his brother and father.  I love his short, funny posts; as well as his inspirational story.

www.AFoodieStaysFit.com

I love reading about Teri’s adventures and her ever-changing hair.

www.DailyGarnish.com

In her blog, Emily (a chef), writes about staying fit and cooking.  She has more recently been writing about her pregnancy journey as well, and is almost to the end of it!  I love her posts about where she is in her pregnancy, and how big the baby is at that moment – always posing for a photo with the vegetable that represents it’s current size.

www.JsEverydayFashion.com

This is a fashion blog for those on a budget.  J shops at normal stores (not high-priced ones), and puts together/mimics outfits for those in the same price range.  I should probably take some of her advice, as I do not know how to dress.

www.HealthyAshley.com

This chick (Ashley) is nuts and does triathlons and ultramarathons.  She also signs up for marathons on a whim.  She recently got injured pretty  badly on a bike and is recovering.  Go send her some love!

www.RachelWilkerson.com

I just started following this blog, and I must say that Rachel is hilarious.  She writes about whatever she feels like, and in a very funny and outright way.  Love her motto “Sorry I’m not sorry”.

www.IComplainThereforeIAm.com

This is my husband’s blog, in which he complains about every-day things that annoy him.  He is extremely funny (not just saying this because he is my husband).  He doesn’t blog that often anymore, but check out his earlier posts.  Warning to the sensitive:  his writing is insulting, sometimes racist and full of vulgar language.  Love it!

www.HyperboleAndAHalf.com

This girl tells her life stories through words and lots of awesome MS Paint pictures (that’s what I’m assuming she uses anyway).  She has recently stopped for a while, because she is writing a book.  You should absolutely read her earlier posts…you will pee. your. pants.

Welp, I think that’s it.

Sorry if you are one of these blogs and your situation has changed (ex. the ones who are pregnant).  I am lazy and forgetful and will probably not remember to update these descriptions, so I am apologizing in advance.

If you have any other great blogs you think I should add to this list, comment and let me know!

They Don’t Serve Beer at a Winery

Oh, hello there friends.  :)

Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard (on Eastern Long Island) was a success.

Family and friends…

Aunt T and the infamous taking-a-picture-of-someone-else-taking-a-picture shot

old friends of the fam

Uncle Steve and Aunt Linda (cousin Kristen and her bf in the background)

Sister Megan (right) and friend

more friends of the fam

the beautiful mother

The most handsome husband in the world…

+ others.

Out of kindness, I will not post the picture of my father passed out in the car (with the car door wide open so his tall body would fit), in the corpse position.

But believe me, it was HILARIOUS.

Good thing we knew this little lady…

Sweet Suzi.

The fam has been going to see her (+ her band) sing for a few years.

Amazing, soulful, raunchy voice         √

Great personality          √

Shout-outs from stage and ability to get us more tables for our friends          √

<3 this woman.

We also had some delicious snacks…

Yes, my mother brought a cutting board lol For the cheese of course!

Wine…

Let’s pause for a little story about wine.

I do not like it.

Never have.

Especially after one stupid younger night in which I decided it would be a great idea to play beer pong with wine.

Worst.  Hangover.  Ever.

Me to woman at bar:  ”I have a really stupid question.  Do you have any beer?”

Snotty woman at bar:  “You won’t find beer at a winery.  You should try going to a restaurant.”

Me:  “For your information, I was at a winery about a year ago and they also served beer, you dumb *****.  Also, why would I go to a friggin restaurant?  I’m here for the music and to hang out with my family.”    “Ok, thank you.”

I sucked it up and drank some wine.

By the third glass it was delicious.

Now, whilst the husband is playing golf with my uncle and cousins’ bf, I have a lovely little list of to-do’s to take care of:

  • catch up on blog/FB reading
  • blog
  • food shopping
  • clean house
  • do laundry
  • Rosetta Stone
  • Archive pictures on computer

I was planning on a little weight training sesh at the gym, but my still-pulled-and-painful back muscle (from golf) is telling me to hold off.

Time to get going!

After I finish watching our outdoor cat run laps around the backyard like a psycho.

Haha, oh cats.  You never get less funny.

This video literally has almost 29 MILLION views.

That is probably because people like me and the husband decide to watch funny cat videos for an hour at a time.

Losers.

Foundation!

Well one of my three readers (hahahaha) and co-worker told me today that what I am using is called foundation.

Thanks, my odd-as-me work buddy.  :)

So, I guess I’m using it correctly.

Good news, all around.

Ps did I mention that I met the husband and one my co-workers for after-they-played-golf drinks?

Three beers in and I’m close to drunk.

Such a lightweight.

So sad.  :)

Off to dinner with the handsome hus-b…accompanied by a few more drinks.

Better watch my pathetic self.

Running with Nikki at 9 a.m.

Happy Friday, lovelies!

Ha.
