So the husband decided that he wanted to go to the driving range yesterday.
Then while we were there, we realized it was only slightly raining, so we decided to try 9 holes at Bethpage.
We got our tee time.
I got a rain jacket (just in case).
At the first hole, the husband asked me if I wanted to tee off, or if I wanted to just watch for a while and then hit a few balls later on.
I said, “Nah, I’ll just watch for a while.”
At which point, the woman in the starter box encouraged me to tee off.
“It’s dead and there is no one here anyway, you may as well. You have to start somewhere!”
I agreed, and hit the ball fairly well, but way too much to the right.
She told me (as did the husband) that I did a great job, and that most new people miss their first shot and that I should be proud of myself.
I ended up playing every hole (much more than I thought I would play), and doing much better than I thought I would.
I actually had a great time!
I only got to take a few pictures (none of me…booo), because a little more than halfway through, it started to pour.
But we were troopers and finished out the last few holes.
I would definitely go again – but on a nice day. :)
Afterwards we took nice hot showers and hung out for the rest of the night watching movies.
Lovely day off.
Today is back to work, and another Couch 2 5K run with my favorite running buddy.
We are on week two now, which is:
- Warm-up
- Run 90 seconds
- Walk 2 minutes
- Repeat for 20 minutes (we decided to stretch this and repeat it 8 times instead)
We are supposed to meet at the gym later because of the weather, but as of right now it’s pretty nice out. So we may get to go to the track after all.
