My name is Jessica and I am 28 years old. I live on Long Island with my amazing new(ish) husband (we got married on June 12, 2010), two adorable dogs, and an outdoor cat. We are lucky enough to live in a house previously owned by my late grandparents, which we are continuously renovating and putting our own personal touches on.
Likes: playing volleyball, watching good movies, running, meditating, choosing happiness, laughing, learning, and anything that involves music. <3
I love to read fitness blogs. The first one I became obsessed with was www.HealthyTippingpPoint.com. It made me want to eat cleaner, run more and also start a blog.
I tried the blogging thing for a few months in 2010 while I was trying to lose some weight before my wedding. It didn’t last very long. I think I felt pressure to write longer more in-depth posts about my life and different fitness-related topics, and it turned me off to blogging.
After reading The Happiness Project, I started a one-sentance journal that I keep on my computer. (Even though it always turns out to be more than just once sentance.) I just recount the day and if anything sticks out in my head, I write a sentance or two about it. I find it to be very therapeutic, and since I’m not writing for an audience I don’t have to worry about pleasing them with my content.
Then I realized I shouldn’t be worrying about “pleasing the audience.” I’m not trying to make a living doing this. I am just documenting little bits of my life and putting them out there in case anyone wants to read them.
